Let's Talk Digital vs. Traditional Business Cards
When is a digital business card better than a traditional paper one? Is there an in between? Inquiring minds want to know.

I wrote a piece recently on LinkedIn about how business cards are an important part of your business networking arsenal and how going all digital, which I've tried, might not be the best way to go.
I have been using my digital and NFC-enabled "tap card" to network for a while. It always seemed so easy and if information had to change, it was easy to change that info without incurring additional costs and waste.
But I recently noticed something when I was using the "digital" business card, no one wanted to fill out the form on the page to exchange info with me. They would screenshot or download the info into their phone. And then it would, pretty much, be lost in the ether.
So there's that problem, but there's something about a nice, thick, well designed business card that makes you memorable. I know I keep those business cards longer than the flimsy ones.
Now let's address the flimsy not well made business card or, dare I say it, a self printed card. These are comparable to a limp handshake and not something that's going to be kept either or for that long. And to be honest, first impressions matter.
Don't go limp on your business cards or handshakes PEOPLE!
A Time And A Place For Digital
One place that I've found having a digital business card handy is when I'm networking online. Having the digital version of the tap card's interface is extremely helpful at these events is very helpful.
Also having a digital business card handy when you might not be carrying your business cards is a plus as well.
So Which Is Better?
I don't think I can answer that. I think both have their advantages and their drawbacks.
