With The Old Twitter Gone Customer Service Online Is Horrible
I used to use the old Twitter (Pre-Musk) for all things customer service. From Comcast to delivery issues, I could deal with customer service via Twitter. That's no more and there's not really a replacement.
Pre-Elon Musk Twitter had it's issues, but overall was a great place to connect and also get customer service help from brands.
I used to deal with my internet service provider, Comcast/Xfinity, via Twitter and even moved my account to a new home all through Twitter direct messages back in 2010.
Well, Musk has ruined Twitter and now there's no real place to get customer service online except at the individual brand's site or via, god forbid, a 1-800 number. UGH.
There is no more accountability or social pressure to do what's right. Not like back in the Twitter heyday. And that makes me sad.
Bluesky & Mastodon are great places, don't get me wrong, they don't replace Twitter for complaints and resolutions. And to be honest they're too small for any real impact.
I don't think there ever will be something quite like the old Twitter.
Do you remember the old Twitter. Did you ever use it get customer service help or resolutions to issues? Post your stories in the comments.

🎙️Have A Podcast? Join The Podcast Mastery Community🎙️

The news and content consumption landscape has shifted—and podcasts are leading the charge.
Younger generations aren't just occasionally listening to podcasts for news and information—they're abandoning traditional media for them. If you're not leveraging this medium, you're missing out on one of the most powerful ways to build your personal or professional brand.
Here's the problem: most people start a podcast without a roadmap. They waste months figuring out what works through trial and error, or worse—they give up entirely.
I've spent over 15 years in the podcast industry, watching it evolve from a niche hobby to a billion-dollar ecosystem. And here's what I know for certain: the podcasters who succeed don't go it alone. They learn from others who've already navigated the challenges, avoided the pitfalls, and cracked the code.
That's why I created the Podcast Mastery Community on Skool—a space where you can learn alongside experienced podcasters, get real feedback, and fast-track your success.
Whether you're launching your first episode or looking to grow your existing show, this is where your podcast journey truly begins.

I think with Musk taking over X/Twitter and many people leaving the service, these apps aren't in trouble, they're just different than what Twitter was back in its heyday.

Can't say I blame the US security apparatus for wanting these things tossed.
