We Are In A New World With AI We Need To Adapt

The old adage, "Write Good Content That You're Visitors Want To Consume" is truer now than ever.

On the latest AI Inside podcast, hosts Jason Howell and Jeff Jarvis interview Liz Reed the VP of Search at Google.

The interview is eye opening and in many cases what Liz is saying is obvious.

Write good content that people are going to want to click through and read. Write content that people are going to want to read more than just the AI summary.

This goes back to the days of the original Google Search person, Matt Cutts. He always said to write good content and the visitors will come. This was per-artificial intelligence, but it's still true now. Write good content and get cited and you will see clicks from AI search.

In essence be the best in the "room" for the content your sharing and you'll see clicks.

Granted are you going to see as many as you used to pre-AI? Probably not. But it's time to adapt. AI isn't going away, so adapt or disappear.

I like what Google is doing with the preferred sources options. This allows users to determine what publications and sites are preferred sources of info. This is a huge signal for Google to make sure they surface that publisher's content to that user.

For example you can click here and make Marketing Junto a preferred source (hint hint).

Search with AI is getting more personal and less scattershot. A result for one user is going to be different for another. It's just how it is now.

When I asked Gemini to summarize the podcast it one of the points it highlighted stood out:

The Rise of "AI Discoverability": Instead of just optimizing for specific keywords, publishers and brands must focus on being easily understood by AI models. This means focusing heavily on demonstrating first-hand Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (E-E-A-T). AI algorithms are designed to pull attributes that consumers heavily value (transparency, deep service expertise), so explicitly stating and backing up these signals on-page is critical.

This means that if you write great content for the visitor, it will also help you in AI search. Seriously... it's not rocket science. 🤯🚀

In the end, AI search is here and like every other update to how we use the Internet, we need to adapt and learn the new paradigm.

This episode of AI Inside is worth the watch. I've embedded the YouTube video below.

Europe Is Fed Up and Wants Its Own AI
It’s a stretch to think that the continent can build a top-tier model, but it has an advantage: Donald Trump.

Europe and the rest of the World needs to develop their own AI. The banning of Mythos/Fable from Anthropic by the US government is a prime example why this is badly needed.

OpenAI Has New AI Models. Here’s Why You Can’t Use Them
The White House asked OpenAI to delay the rollout of its GPT-5.6 AI models, two weeks after Anthropic had to take its most advanced AI models offline.

Bound to happen. Not surprised.

It’s not about Anthropic vs. OpenAI anymore | TechCrunch
AI models have progressed to the point where their capabilities have real political consequences. Dealing with those consequences will require collective action.

Yep. Not sure if it's a Republican vs. Democrat situation. I think the government would be taking the reigns even in a democratic administration. Though probably more graceful (or maybe not).

To Build or Not to Build
In a vibecoding world, everyone can develop apps, websites, and services. But should they?

A valid question. And it depends...

Anthropic’s Mythos mess is only getting worse
Two weeks in, negotiations are still dragging on — with no resolution in sight.

This could be a bad thing for the US AI industry, probably will be. But how much was this brought on by Dario Amodei's blustering of how powerful Claude is becoming?

OpenAI unveils GPT-5.6 amid US AI regulatory drama
On Friday, the company unveiled the limited preview of its new GPT 5.6 model suite: Sol, Terra, and Luna.

Let's see if OpenAI can stay in the administrations good graces.

A Third Of Fintech Is Invisible To AI Agents

Netflix now requires every user profile to be tied to unique email address

Good grief. Greed is strong with Netflix.

The CEO of AWS on why Amazon is hiring 11,000 interns and junior employees
Matt Garman argues that junior employees are as necessary as ever. But AWS now sells agents that can recruit, code, and process claims. Will the balance hold?

This is a good move for Amazon AWS.

Bodycam Shows Moment Cops Arrested a Man for Speaking Too Long at Data Center Meeting

So talking too much gets you in trouble?! Geezus. He needs to sue.

The Industry Mourns The Loss Of Bruce Clay - The Father Of SEO
Bruce Clay, known as the Father of SEO, passed away in late May. Bruce Clay started his company before there was even an SEO industry and is known for helping it become a true professional industry. I never met an individual who has contributed more to the industry than Bruce, both in terms of his time, resources, and money.

A true legend. I had the pleasure of talking with Bruce a few times. He was extremely knowledgeable and accessible to many. He really want the Father of SEO. RIP Bruce! 😟😢

Om
This is going to sound cornier than a bucket of Jiffy-Pop, but it is a profound irony that a man with such a big and beautiful figurative heart could have such a lousy literal one.

Another tech luminary died recently. Om Malik was at the forefront of tech. It's a true loss for the tech community. 😢😟

FCC accused of hiding Chairman Carr’s messages with DOGE and Musk
FCC refuses to provide messages, has “wasted a year” of court’s time, filing says.

Why am I not surprised. 🙄🤪

Google Business Profiles Message Button & AI Agent On Dashboard
Google has added the messages button back to the Google Business Profile dashboard within Google Search. Google use to have a feature like this but I believe removed it but now it is possibly coming back.

This could be interesting.

Asian AI startups launch Mythos-like models as Anthropic’s export ban drags on | TechCrunch
New models are launching in Asia that promise Mythos-like capabilities without fear of an export ban. U.S. AI labs may never recover this enormous market.

This is going to happen. The US is falling behind. Not sure how terrible that is for the general public who are increasingly not liking AI and their data centers.
