Wikipedia At 25!
Hard to believe that Wikipedia is 25 years old as of last week. I remember when you couldn't use it for any of your academics. Things have changed.
Wikipedia is a force on the Internet. This editable/collaborative encyclopedia celebrated its 25th birthday last week and launched a enterprise edition for artificial intelligence companies to pay for usage.
What a smart move and even better the AI companies are joining for the access. Which is only right, since they are deriving immense value from the site.
I've been an active user of Wikipedia for years and have donated to the cause on occasion as well.
As a marketer a link back from Wikipedia are as good as a link for a high-profile .EDU link or a .GOV link.
It's a major feat to having your service, bio, etc. featured on the site, which is hard to do because you can't put it up yourself. You have to be notable enough to have someone else do it and have it not get taken down by editors.
I can't always donate monetarily, but I do my best to contribute where I can as an occasional editor. It's a good feeling because you're contributing to the great good.
Do you use Wikipedia? If so how? Have you donated recently?
🎙️Have A Podcast? Join The Podcast Mastery Community🎙️

The news and content consumption landscape has shifted—and podcasts are leading the charge.
Younger generations aren't just occasionally listening to podcasts for news and information—they're abandoning traditional media for them. If you're not leveraging this medium, you're missing out on one of the most powerful ways to build your personal or professional brand.
Here's the problem: most people start a podcast without a roadmap. They waste months figuring out what works through trial and error, or worse—they give up entirely.
I've spent over 15 years in the podcast industry, watching it evolve from a niche hobby to a billion-dollar ecosystem. And here's what I know for certain: the podcasters who succeed don't go it alone. They learn from others who've already navigated the challenges, avoided the pitfalls, and cracked the code.
That's why I created the Podcast Mastery Community on Skool—a space where you can learn alongside experienced podcasters, get real feedback, and fast-track your success.
Whether you're launching your first episode or looking to grow your existing show, this is where your podcast journey truly begins.

A Tool That I Can't Live Without

I've been looking for a laptop stand for my laptop forever that helps with my posture. Also gives me more ports than are on my computer. This one fits the bill perfectly!

Digg is back! I've been tinkering with it for months in the closed beta, now it's open to everyone! I'm excited to see where it goes and if can unseat Reddit.

Exactly what you don't do on Wikipedia.

Yuck. Anything News Corp is just gross, IMO.

That's quite a bit of money! Geezus.

Would you?

Kind of incestuous, don't ya think? 🙄🤔

This is neat to see an Open Web/Fediverse developer get some mainstream press coverage.

Oh joy! Greedy much? Will I continue to pay? Yes, because the whole family uses the family plan and it's more of a hassle to move. This is what Spotify is relying on.

Then it's not a f*cking podcast! 🙄 If you can't get it on RSS then it's not a podcast. It's a show! Why can't people get this into their heads? 😤🤬😠

Everyone is suing xAI over the non-consensual sexual images it's making.

It sure does and it's spreading like a cancer.

Ads are coming. This might be a good opportunity for marketing teams to get in front of the right searchers. I'm intrigued, not thrilled from a consumer-angle, but from a marketer, I'm interested.
This looks promising!

This is a smart move for AWS. And smart for any company not wanting to be reliant on US servers. Though AWS is still part of a US tech giant. So not sure if it's enough.

SEO is now even more a mishmash of letters now and a multi-disciplinary industry.
