Vibe Coding Is Now One Of The Words Of The Year
The folks over at Collins Dictionary Have Named Vibe Coding The Word of the Year for 2025.
I always enjoy finding out what the different dictionaries pick as the Word of the Year for their institutions. This year is no different with the Collins Dictionary naming "Vibe Coding" the word (rather phrase) of the year.
This is less about the dictionary and its choice of phrases and instead it's more a testament to how far coding has come with artificial intelligence baked in.
Marketers should take note of this and embrace vibe coding as a way to at least get a MVP (minimal viable product) of a tool they need for their marketing done.
I've been very vocal that AI should be used for streamlining various activities, but it shouldn't supplant actual human interaction with the project to tool being developed.
I think AI is a great writing partner and great for helping you get past the blank page that many of us face. But you need to still have input into the output that's given.
NEVER put the AI content out without making it your own and always checking it for accuracy.
Recently, I decided to play with the Lovable.dev vibe coding platform to build an tool that would help website owners better optimize their sites for the new AI search engines. You can check it out at AnswerEngineOptimizer.app and take it for a spin.
I started the project with an idea (hat tip to my buddy Shawn who had the idea initially 😁) and thought I'd see how hard it would be to vibe code the app.
With in 3 or so detailed prompts, I had a pretty decent prototype. And after about 2 hours of tweaks I had a really good app that I felt comfortable putting a domain name on and sharing with people to try out.
As I continue to adjust the look and feel and functionality, I'm seeing that vibe coding is more a collaboration between human and machine than machines just building something and throwing out to the Web.
I encourage everyone who has and idea to give vibe coding a try. Even if it's just to get an idea out and then get developers involved.
🎙️Have A Podcast? Join The Podcast Mastery Community🎙️

The news and content consumption landscape has shifted—and podcasts are leading the charge.
Younger generations aren't just occasionally listening to podcasts for news and information—they're abandoning traditional media for them. If you're not leveraging this medium, you're missing out on one of the most powerful ways to build your personal or professional brand.
Here's the problem: most people start a podcast without a roadmap. They waste months figuring out what works through trial and error, or worse—they give up entirely.
I've spent over 15 years in the podcast industry, watching it evolve from a niche hobby to a billion-dollar ecosystem. And here's what I know for certain: the podcasters who succeed don't go it alone. They learn from others who've already navigated the challenges, avoided the pitfalls, and cracked the code.
That's why I created the Podcast Mastery Community on Skool—a space where you can learn alongside experienced podcasters, get real feedback, and fast-track your success.
Whether you're launching your first episode or looking to grow your existing show, this is where your podcast journey truly begins.

Web Jawn

Glad it was uncovered. But a bit of a black eye on the LLM if you ask me. I guess it was bound to happen.

This is a step back. Now it's a RAM hog! 🐷 Time stop using WhatsApp on my computer, I guess.

This is neat. For $20 USD/mo you can host 20 minute videos on your Micro.blog site and it federated to the greater open web! Neato!

AI is everywhere, so why not in Facebook Marketplace. 🙄

Kind of funny seeing TikTok ripoff Instagram instead of the other way around.
What possibly could go wrong? Um... quite a bit. 😱🤔🤨

Rejoice! Hallelujah! 😁

Like a drop in the bucket for Google, but still a rather large fine. "Don't Be Evil" ha!
Well, it happened. In the first documented case of this, Chinese state-sponsored hackers convinced Claude to autonomously hack into 30 institutions, get credentials (usernames and passwords), and take out "a large amount of private data."

It was bound to happen. But scary all the same!

14 years at the help of the iFruit company and now Tim Cook looks to be stepping down as CEO of Apple in 2026. An end to the second big era of Apple.
Worth a watch. Matt does a great job arguing for Podcasting 2.0.

This doesn't surprise me one bit.

Not good! Why would anyone think having a General AI in a kids' toy be a good thing? 🤦🏻♂️

End of an era at Mastodon. Onward Eugen!

Apparently according to Zuck, social networking is dead. Could have fooled me. 🤬
Web Find

My tool that I vibe coded.

Gotta love dogs!

Cool tip!

The whole thread of this is scary, true, and clever.
