Podcast Video Is Getting Easier To Distribute Thanks To Apple

Apple has recently released an update that allows for HLS video in it's app.

Apple recently launched HLS video to it's podcasting app making video podcasts accessible to more people. No longer do people have to watch the videos of their favorite podcasts through YouTube or Spotify, there's now a third option.

Hosts are catching up offering video hosting as an option to their customers, which is a good thing. Though I still think that podcasts are best consumed when you're doing something else and your hands are busy. Like doing chores, dishes, or driving. But having this added viewing option is a good move.

What does this mean for marketers?

Marketers can now have video ads in podcasts, that can go along with host read ads. This is more dynamic.

Will this be liked by the consumer? Probably not. But if the ad is good most listeners/watchers will consume it.

What this means for the podcast industry is more important. It means there are more ways your audience can engage with your content and feel connected with you and what you're talking about.

I'm excited to try this out. What do you think? Are you going to start doing video for you podcast?

🎙️Podcast Coaching 🎙️

I've been podcasting since 2010. During those 15+ years I've learned a thing or two about the ins and outs of the industry and approaching it the right way. Both as a guest and as a host.

I offer podcast coaching as a service to share the knowledge that I've accumulated over the decade-plus in the industry.

WordPress Page Builders and Performance (The Brutal Truth)
Page builders promise speed, but usually not the kind that matters most. They promise faster development, faster editing, and faster iteration. They make it easier to launch pages without waiting on a developer. They give marketers, designers, and site owners more control over layout and presentation. That convenience is real, and pretending otherwise would be […]

This is why I'm starting to try to use the Block Editor in WordPress instead of page builders. Though if you know what you're doing you can still make a site with a page builder pretty darn fast.
