Never Quite Understood Not Wanting Personalized Adverts Vs. Irrelevant Adverts
I might be in the minority on this one. š¤
I love some Peppa Pig š
Recently YouTube pushed back against adblockers on their service. Their pitch is either pay for YouTube premium (which as a boatload of features included) or allow ads to play.
Seems reasonable enough. Now YouTube Premium isnāt inexpensive, but you get a whole lot with it, including ad free YouTube and YouTube Music, among other features.
I donāt pay for YouTube premium, I deal with the ads. Are they annoying, yes! But thatās my choice between the two options. And to be honest, most of the ads are relevant to me, so I donāt mind them. Sometimes I donāt even skip them, and even more rare, I might even buy the product/service.
What I donāt get, and I know Iām in the minority here, but I much rather have relevant ads for items that I might want or interest me than products out of left field.
Not having targeted ads and having to watch an ad that is not relevant is infuriating. Some ads, which are targeted, are sometimes even clever. And dare I even say itā¦ better than the content I want to watch.
