In The Age Of AI, Always Keep A Human In The Loop
Artificial Intelligence can be great for so many things. But relying on it without keeping a human in the loop is not a good idea. Especially in marketing.
I'll admit it. I like a lot of what AI can do for me and my business.
I like that it helps me brainstorm ideas for blog posts, podcasts episodes, and newsletters. What I don't like is how easy it is to just let AI do everything. This is when your content loses it's humanity.
Marketers need to be especially careful with AI technology. It's easy automate repetitive tasks, but it's very important to keep a human in the loop at all times.
A friend of mine and fellow marketer, Kristi Mitchell, posted on LinkedIn in favor of AI use that highlights this perfectly.
She writes:
𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹: I have a lot of friends who are incredible, top-tier copywriters. Their talent is undeniable, and their work is worth every penny of their high-end project rates.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Not every small business has the budget to hire a professional copywriter for every single blog, email, and social post. Especially these days, when we are all trying to save time, energy, and money.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵? AI is getting 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 good at writing content. For a small business owner, it can be the difference between staying consistent and staying silent.
But (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘨 "𝘣𝘶𝘵"), AI isn't a magic button.
To make it work without hurting your brand, you need:
✅ The right strategy
✅ Specific parameters
✅ Constant guidance/oversight
✅ A rigorous review process
I see a massive opportunity for small businesses to leverage AI to bridge the gap. It’s not about replacing talent; it’s about using technology to make growth accessible for everyone.
I see this too. AI is democratizing a lot of the marketing and content industry. People in these verticals need to adapt to stay relevant. And using AI to supplement their offerings, keeping themselves in the loop of course, is the key.
Overall, using AI shouldn't be taboo. But it also shouldn't be a crutch and overused either. Especially in marketing.

The news and content consumption landscape has shifted—and podcasts are leading the charge.
Younger generations aren't just occasionally listening to podcasts for news and information—they're abandoning traditional media for them. If you're not leveraging this medium, you're missing out on one of the most powerful ways to build your personal or professional brand.
Here's the problem: most people start a podcast without a roadmap. They waste months figuring out what works through trial and error, or worse—they give up entirely.
I've spent over 15 years in the podcast industry, watching it evolve from a niche hobby to a billion-dollar ecosystem. And here's what I know for certain: the podcasters who succeed don't go it alone. They learn from others who've already navigated the challenges, avoided the pitfalls, and cracked the code.
That's why I created the Podcast Mastery Community on Skool—a space where you can learn alongside experienced podcasters, get real feedback, and fast-track your success.
Whether you're launching your first episode or looking to grow your existing show, this is where your podcast journey truly begins.

A good, thought provoking piece that is a must read.

If there was any doubt how disgusting Meta is as a company. Geez.

This is just weird to me. Requiring more pen and paper assignments. Hmmm. Good luck trying to read these kids' handwriting. If my son's handwriting is any hint, it's going to be tough.

This is a good move. Thank you Apple!

This is a major issue and needs to be watched.
A worthwhile read. I fully agree.
I love Matt's take on what's going on WordPress.

Good questions asked in this article. Neat to see innovation happening on both sides of the AI coin.

Wow! Spotify is 20 years old!

Might be time to get off of Zoom.
This why Bluesky needs to federate. People who don't want AI in their feed should be able to move to another federated server without losing everything.
