I Vibe-Coded A Social Media Posting App

FediDeck is a Tweetdeck-like multi-column app for the ActivityPub (Open Social Web) protocol social networks. I coded it using Lovable.dev and it actually works!

I've wanted a multi-column "Tweetdeck-like" interface for Mastodon for awhile. I've found some apps that have worked, but weren't exactly what I wanted. So, I decided to use Lovable.dev to vibe code it. Introducing FediDeck.app

All in I've spent probably 8 hours (over a number of days) "vibing" with the AI to build it out. And it worked! But, it still needs iterations and was definitely not a one shot deal. Still improving it all the time.

Currently, I've been able to overload it with API calls to Mastodon, not a good thing, but a good edge case for power users.

I'm rather impressed with the suite of features I have in it so far! I keep adding more as people give me suggestions and as I use it.

You can see the updated change-log here: https://updates.fedideck.app

Give it a whirl and let me know what you think. And if you want to help funding this project with a donation (one-time or monthly) you go to go my Ko-Fi. Every little bit helps! Thanks!

The news and content consumption landscape has shifted—and podcasts are leading the charge.

Younger generations aren't just occasionally listening to podcasts for news and information—they're abandoning traditional media for them. If you're not leveraging this medium, you're missing out on one of the most powerful ways to build your personal or professional brand.

Here's the problem: most people start a podcast without a roadmap. They waste months figuring out what works through trial and error, or worse—they give up entirely.

I've spent over 15 years in the podcast industry, watching it evolve from a niche hobby to a billion-dollar ecosystem. And here's what I know for certain: the podcasters who succeed don't go it alone. They learn from others who've already navigated the challenges, avoided the pitfalls, and cracked the code.

That's why I created the Podcast Mastery Community on Skool—a space where you can learn alongside experienced podcasters, get real feedback, and fast-track your success.

Whether you're launching your first episode or looking to grow your existing show, this is where your podcast journey truly begins.

We Need to Talk About How We Talk About ‘AI’ | TechPolicy.Press
We share a responsibility to create and use empowering metaphors rather than misleading language, write Emily M. Bender and Nanna Inie.

Interesting take. I don't fully agree or disagree with this stance. Dr. Bender is definitely on the ant-artificial intelligence side of things, so I read the article with that in mind.

The project that turned me into a Claude Code believer
I feel great about the website I’m building — and terrible for professional website builders. PLUS: Who will stop Grok? And ChatGPT will see you now

Worth a read if you ask me. Web design and development is going to be co-opted by AI. It's time to pivot. That's what I'm doing. Casey mentions the plight of Tailwind.css' dev team. This is real and happening, because of AI.

X restricts Grok’s image generation to paying subscribers only after drawing the world’s ire | TechCrunch
Elon Musk’s AI company has restricted Grok’s controversial AI image-generation feature to only paying subscribers on X, after the tool invited heated criticism from across the world for letting users generate sexualized images of women and children.

So now you can be a horrible person if you pay for the system. This might quash a little bit of the issue, but it's not dealing with the overall issue, which is user behavior and guardrails. Am I surprised that Grok is as bad as it is? Nope.

Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI is burning cash at a rapid pace, losing $1.46 billion in a single quarter and nearly $8 billion in nine months despite rising revenue, while relying on a fresh $20 billion funding round to sustain its expansion.

Wow, the richest person in the World is burning money like it's going out of style. His xAI company lost close $1.5 BILLION in a single quarter! Geez, that's a lot of money.

WhatsApp Tests Usernames as Primary Connection Display
WhatsApp is preparing users for the switch to usernames, as opposed to phone numbers.

This is a good thing. You'll soon be able to give out a username vs. your phone number on WhatsApp.

Video in the iHeartRadio app will use the power of open RSS
iHeart’s forthcoming video feature is the way all podcast apps should be

This is good for the whole podcasting space. Open RSS is the wave of the future. Mark my words. iHeart using Open RSS to serve both their audio and video means you'll be able to see both versions in the RSS and consume it how you want. This is a HUGE win.

LLMs Are Accelerating the Open Source Sustainability Crisis
Adam Wathan, the creator of Tailwind CSS, has been speaking about how LLMs have made his project more popular than ever…while also making it fall apart financially, causing him to fire 75% of his engineers. “I think AI is a huge reason why our business is struggling, even though it’s making Tailwind more popular than ever.” — Adam Wathan (12:03) How is this possible? A major cause is that LLMs are blocking Tailwind’s creators and users from forming a relationship with each other.

Such sad news about Tailwind CSS! AI does have some major downsides.

LLMs have made simple software trivial
I was out for a run today and I had an idea for an app. I busted out my own app, Quick Notes, and dictated what I wanted this app to do in detail. When I got home, I created a new project in Xcode, I committed it to GitHub,

It sure has.

Age Verification Threats Across the Globe: 2025 in Review
Age verification mandates won’t magically keep young people safer online, but that has not stopped governments around the world spending 2025 implementing or attempting to introduce legislation requiring all online users to verify their ages before accessing the digital space.

Age verification is flawed. Deeply flawed.
