How To Use AI In A Way That Is Beneficial
This newsletter is turning into an artificial intelligence newsletter and not a marketing one. Eeek! I promise to vary it up soon.
Today I want to talk about how to use AI in a why that will bolster your digital marketing and not hinder it.
AI is a great tool. It makes coming up with ideas and getting past that dreaded blank piece of paper so much easier than before. But just because you can have it write up an idea into a 500 to 1000 word essay, doesn't mean you should.😜
AI writes like a fifth grader, at best. It doesn't have original thoughts, because after all its just predicting the next word, not thinking.
The way I use AI is to give me some ideas for a blog post, or help me generate an outline for a post. Then I go in and expound up on the thoughts and build out the blog post.
I've talked to quite a few people who have asked me if I think the art of writing and the business of copywriting is dead, because of AI.
Nope.
You know why? Because even Google is valuing good copy over bland and autogenerated crap.
In the near future I see copywriters using AI to get started, but the real magic comes when they apply their tradecraft. To me, that tradecraft is worth the extra money.
What do you think? How do you use AI?

I've started using Perplexity.ai instead of Google this week. And you know what? It's really good. It pulls from Anthropic's Claude and ChatGPT 4 Turbo as well as the various search engines. Above all, it cites its sources! It's well worth the $20 USD for the more advanced features because you get the mor advanced AI models and more control.
That's it for this week! Keep rocking it!
