Just this week Nilay Patel, the editor-in-chief of The Verge replaced the X social media network share button with the Instagram Threads.net button.

Threads.net Post from Nilay Patel's (reckless1280) account.

This is a big deal, because people are flocking from X in droves. Though, in my opinion, not fast enough. And with with Threads.net federating with the greater Fediverse and X being banned in Brazil, it's only a matter of time before the decentralized/federated web becomes more of a reality for more people.

What does this mean for Marketing, you ask? Lots! Your brand should be using Threads if not another fediverse property to reach your consumers.

Now what I mean by get on the federated web is to use it wisely. Don't spam post your offers, but instead engage and interact with others in your target market. Be a good digital citizen.

Get to know the communities and participate. If you don't you're not going to have much success.

Also if you have a WordPress powered site, you can hook your site up to the fediverse quite easily through the ActivityPub plugin. This allows you to share you blog content with the wider fediverse and respond through your comments section. It's pretty nifty.

What do you think? Have you gotten on the Fediverse? Either way, let's talk, I want to hear why or why not.

Some of you who saw modest increases in your Google Search rankings during the core update are now reporting those gains are being lost.

What a cluster-F. This is not a good look for the search giant. They are way too powerful and their changes hurt so many businesses and in turn people. This shouldn't be how it is. But it is.
